Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A limestone canyon along the upper reaches of the Rivers Tajo and Tajuña. Vegetation includes
Pinus forest, garrigue and grassland areas.
The site is important for cliff-nesting raptors.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats are from more intensive forest management and disturbance from increasing recreational activities, particularly angling and canoeing.

International Partial87,269 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Alto Tajo, 125,988 ha). 8,900 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Parameras de Maranchón, 44,819 ha).
