Site location and context
Situated in the south-east of Styria near the border to Hungary, this site is characterized by a mosaic of forests, meadows, orchards, vineyards, and arable fields. Most of the farms are small and agriculture is mainly non-intensive.
An important area for species characteristic of non-intensive mixed agriculture.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Recent moves towards agricultural intensification have led to meadows being converted to arable land and the clearance of orchards.
