Site description (2000 baseline)
A mountain massif with many high limestone cliffs. The vegetation comprises scrub, grassland and Quercus and Abies forests. The main human activities are livestock-farming, hunting and tourism.

Key biodiversity
This is an important area for cliff-nesting raptors, particularly Gyps fulvus and Hieraaetus fasciatus. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aquila adalberti (non-breeding) and Falco naumanni (7 breeding pairs).
