Site description (2000 baseline):
This site is important for forest species, including raptors and owls, and some waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Haliaeetus albicilla (breeding and wintering).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Plans exist for the designation of c.30 smaller protected areas (less than 10 ha each) by the Swedish Forestry Commission, involving the setting up of management agreements with land-owners.
