Site description (2005 baseline):
Site location and context
This lowland area is situated between rivers Odra and Sava. The most valuable parts of the area are extensive wet meadows, important for nesting of Corncrakes. Pedunculate oak forest is developed on the right bank of the river Odra. Other habitats are mosaic landscapes and willow and poplar forests. The main threats are changes of water level in wet forests due to drainage, intensifi ed forest management, changes in traditional
farming, river canalization and excessive or illegal hunting.
