Site description (2007 baseline)
The island of Tiree lies in the Inner Hebrides of western Scotland, 17 km west of Mull in Argyll and Bute. The site lies close to Ben Hynish, near the south coast of the island, and includes areas of agricultural hay meadows, silage fields, pasture, arable fields, marsh, iris beds and rock outcrops. It supports an important breeding population of Crex crex.
