Tenegüime gully


Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A gully with scrub, drought-resistant grassland, exposed bedrock and inland cliffs situated in the north-east of Lanzarote. Human activities include goat-grazing.



Key biodiversity
The site is also important for breeding seabirds and raptors.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats are posed by the presence of people taking part in open-air sports (climbing has the highest impact), and the poaching of Calonectris diomedea chicks (more than 70% of chicks are captured every year).



Protected areas
National High International None421 ha of IBA covered by Protected Landscape (Tenegüime, 421 ha).
