Site location and context

Taoyuandong Nature Reserve is located in the central part of the Luoxiao mountains. It is the watershed and source of several major river systems of Hunan and Jiangxi Provinces.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve (8,288 ha) in 1982, and upgraded to a national nature reserve (23,786 ha) in 2002.
