Site description (2003 baseline):
Site location and context
This site is located on the east coast of Sumatra between Tanjung Selokan and Lampung province boundary.
There is breeding colony of waterbirds in mangrove site which is located around 2 km from the coast line in dense fern of
Acrosticum. Air survey on 1-2 September 1988 found:Around 300-400 nestsof 500 Milky Stork
Myctera cinerea (including juveniles)30 Lesser Adjutant
Leptoptilus javanicus60 Great Egret
Egretta alba.
Mangrove forest, swamp forest and
herbaceous swamps
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Land conversion for fisheries, wood collection and forest fires in dry season.
