Site description (2019 baseline)
The area comprises of large river island on the Danube near the town of Kovin, as well as the settling tanks of the sugar refinery in Kovin, which are situated along the river. Shallow waters of the settling tanks and inland waters of the island make it very suitable habitats for terns and wadding bird species. The IBA is located within the municipality of Kovin in Vojvodina region.
