Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An area of plains and low hills with extensive cereal cultivation and small patches of scrub.
An important site for steppic species and for foraging and dispersing raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aegypius monachus (non-breeding) and
Aquila adalberti (non-breeding).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats include illegal house construction and urban infrastructure developments. A management plan for the SPA, produced by SEO, has yet to be applied by the regional government.

International Partial33,200 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Estepas cerealistas de los ríos Jarama y Henares, 33,520 ha).
