Site description (2001 baseline)
Shallow waters along the southern shore of Finsky Bay on the Baltic sea.

Key biodiversity
This is one of the most important places on Belomoro-Baltiysky flyway with up to 25,000 swans, 100,000 ducks (A.plathyrhynchos, A.penelope, A.acuta, A.crecca, A.querquedula, A.clypeata, A.fuligula, B.clangula, M.serrator, M.merganser) and 200,000 gulls (L.argentatus, L.canus, L.ridibundus) stopping over mainly on spring migration.
