Site location and context
Located at the southern edge of the warm temperate region, in a transitional area between the northern subtropical region and the warm temperate region. The climate is warm, with high rainfall. The main habitat types are reservoirs and plantation forests, with broadleaf deciduous forest.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a provincial-level nature reserve (16,700 ha) in 2001, to protect the wetland ecosystem and the birds.
