Site location and context
A part of the Danube delta, near Vilkovo village.
The total number of breeding waterbirds is 18,000 pairs, while more than 100,000 individuals stage here on migration.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The IBA is due to be included in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, which is in the process of being designated.

International High6,800 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (Kyliiske Mouth, 32,800 ha).
