Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A 12-m-high, vertical loess cliff, located on a major regional road south-west of the town of Tutrakan. The surrounding open lands are covered by steppe-like vegetation of grasslands with some scrub (Crataegus, Rosa, Rubus) and forests of Robinia. Human activities include stock-grazing and loess excavation.



Key biodiversity
The site holds the largest nesting colony of Merops apiaster in Bulgaria.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
There are no serious threats to this site. Children sometimes disturb the birds and destroy nests.
