Site description (2000 baseline):

A large, eutrophic lake (2,800 ha), surrounded by wet meadows and bogs.

Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Crex crex (10 breeding pairs).

Peat extraction and drainage are adversely affecting the IBA.

National None International HighIBA overlaps with Ramsar Site and Special Protection Area.
