Site description (2019 baseline):

Stari Begej is a typical flatland area in the Banat region in Serbia. It is located within the municipality of Zrenjanin and is comprised of the old watercourse of Begej river and surrounding still preserved natural grasslands (pastures and wet meadows) and large, intensively cultivated fields, intersected with irrigation channels.
