Site location and context
The Weno Ridge Forest is listed as a potential conservation area in the FSM NBSAP (2002). The ridge contains native forest but is surrounded by highly populated areas. The ridge also feeds water sources.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Conservation targets in the area include (NBSAP, 2002): • Upland Forest • Cynometra yokotai • Chuuk Flying Fox



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Weno is the most highly populated island in Chuuk and home to the administrative center. The South Weno Ridge IBA is surrounded by development.
