Site description (2019 baseline)
The IBA represents a valley of the Sokobanjska Moravica river and is set between Rtanj mountain to the north and Ozren mountain to the south. It stretches within the municipality of Sokobanja in Eastern Serbia. The landscape is characterized by extensive farmland with small parcels of diverse crops occupying 80 % of the area. The area is very heterogeneous and represents a mosaic of arable land, deciduous forest groves, meadows and orchards, especially towards the hilly areas in the southern and northern part of the IBA.
