Site location and context
Located in the mountainous region around the Lhasa River. The habitat below 3,900 m is dry river valley scrub, from 3,900-4,500 m there is scrub dominated by Spiraea spp. on sunny slopes and Rhododendron parvifolium on the shaded slopes, from 4,500-4,900 m there is short Cypress spp. in sunny areas and Rhododendron parvifolium and Salix spp. on the shaded slopes, from 4,500-4,900 m there is Rhododendron parvifolium scrub, and from 4,900-5,200 m there is meadow. Above 5,200 m is high-mountain alpine vegetation, with bare rocks above and no glacial development.
Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Moschus sifanicus.
