ID150
Semau

Site description (2003 baseline):

Site location and context
Topography of this island is hilly with the highest altitude of 210 m asl.

Key biodiversity
Streak-breasted Honeyeater Meliphaga reticulata is common in this area. Timor Green Pigeon Treron psittacea recorded once (White & Bruce 1986), but unrecorded by Holmes observation (Holmes 1993). Because of very limited records for Timor Green Pigeon Treron psitacea, this island need special attention, although the site still uncertain. Follow-up survey is really needed. Observation by Derek Holmes could not recorded Timor Blue Flycatcher Cyornis hyacinthinus, that reported present on Semau Island (Stattersfield et.al. 1998).

Habitat and land use
A small area of lowland forest and savanna (Holmes 1993)
