Site description (2008 baseline)
Seagrange Park is situated 1 km inland from Baldoyle and is separated from the estuary by Baldoyle village. This urban park is bounded on both the east and west by housing, to the north by a road and to the south by a railway line. Once farmed by a religious order, this flat, open area was developed as a recreational park in the early 1980’s. The eastern end has been particularly susceptible to flooding in recent winters (Harford 1994). Part of the park is used as a soccer pitch and is mostly mown grass. A section is now left unmown, and is developing into a marsh.
