Site description (2005 baseline)
River Sava near Hruscica changes its flow from fast upper to slow lower flow, and it is the only remaining part of the river with well developed gravel islands, bars and shores. It is important area for breeding of Common and Little Tern. Birds are threatened mainly by river canalization, water pollution and unregulated recreational activities.
