Site description (2000 baseline)
An island with rugged coasts, steep cliffs, boulder-screes, and grass slopes. Land-uses include sheep-grazing. The site comprises the seabird colonies that almost surround the island.
Key biodiversity
The island holds internationally important seabird colonies, with c.170,000 pairs of breeding seabird, including Rissa tridactyla (20,500 pairs) and Uria aalge (29,500 individuals).
