Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A dyked fjord/lagoon area (a failed land-reclamation project) with saltmarshes, meadows (partly cultivated), reedbeds and plantation areas.
No recent data are available as the area is not well surveyed or monitored.
Circus aeruginosus, Recurvirostra avosetta, Philomachus pugnax and
Sterna albifrons, listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive, bred at the site in 1983.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Entry is prohibited to a large part of the area.

International High3,630 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (Sejero Bugt, Nekeselo Bugt and Saltbæk Vig, 42,560 ha). 3,630 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Saltbæk Vig, 3,630 ha).
