Site description (2000 baseline):

Saltmarshes and salinas around the Berre lagoon. Human activities include hunting and salt exploitation.

The site is particularly important for breeding waders.

The site is threatened by urban and industrial development, tourism and hunting pressure. Water pollution from industry is also a problem.
