Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A area of granitic cliffs around the River Duero and its tributaries. The site is dominated by
Quercus, Cistus and
Juniperus scrub. The main human activities are arable agriculture and livestock-farming.
This is an important site for cliff-nesting raptors and breeding
Ciconia nigra.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from forestry, quarrying and the abandonment of traditional land-uses.
