Site location and context
A lake with surrounding
Pinus and cork oak
Quercus suber forests, marshes, heathland, beaches and coastal dunes. Forestry, fishing and hunting are the most frequent human activities.
The site is important for migrating raptors and passerines. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Haliaeetus albicilla (passage);
Acrocephalus paludicola (passage).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No serious threats are known at this site.

International Partial617 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Courant d'Huchet, 617 ha). 140 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (140 ha). 656 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Courant d'Huchet, 656 ha).
