Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A river mouth with a stony riverbed and small shallow lagoons, with considerable expanses of
Typha.
This is an important site for breeding waders, wildfowl and herons. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Larus audouinii (54 passage individuals).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are pollution from urban areas and from spraying against mosquitos. Drainage, canalization and agricultural intensification are also threats.
