Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An artificial wetland situated near to the town of Münster (the fields were used for disposing of treated sewage). Reeds
Phragmites are present along with broadleaved forest (
Quercus and
Betula).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
There is an ongoing LIFE project to ensure effective management of the Special Protection Area.
National Partial
International HighIBA overlaps with Nature Reserve. 233 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (Rieselfelder Münster, 233 ha). IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
