Site description (2000 baseline)
An 18-km stretch of the River Rhine containing riverine forest, Salix scrub, small rapids, gravel-banks and springs. A further 10 km of the river is embanked. Additional habitat-types include dry former riverine forest, Pinus forest, dry grassland and gravel-pits.
Key biodiversity
This is an important site for wintering wildfowl.
