Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A dry heathland, with large parts dominated by grasses, and with some bogs and small plantations.
The site was designated as an SPA in 1983, based on its populations of
Tringa glareola and
Tetrao tetrix; both are listed on Annex I of the EC Birds Directive, but are no longer present.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats include introductions of
Pinus mugo and airborne nutrient pollution, largely resulting from intensification of agricultural practices.

International High1,010 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Randbøl Hede, 1,010 ha).
