Qixing Lazi Siberian Tiger Nature Reserve


Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
Qixing Lazi Siberian Tiger Nature Reserve is located on the northern slopes of Wanda Shan mountain, in an area with many forestry farms. Natural vegetation covers an area of 20,971 ha within the reserve.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Panthera tigris altaia, Felis lynx, Martes zibellina, Cervus elaphus, Lepus timidus, Lutra lutra and Selenarctos thibetanus. Nationally protected plants include Phellodendron chinense, Fraxinus mandshurica and Juglans mandshurica.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a provincial-level nature reserve (33,000 ha) in 1990.
