Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context

Located in Qidong City, on the northern bank of the Yangtze Estuary where the slow flowing waters result in sedimentation. The avifauna is likely to be very similar to the nearby Coastal Wetlands of Northern Chongming Dao Island (CN374).

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

A provincial-level nature reserve established in 1985 for the conservation of Grus japonensis and G. monacha.
