Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An undulating plain dominated by arable agriculture with scrub, grassland and small areas of
Pinus woodland and endorreic lagoons.
This is an important site for steppic birds and breeding waders.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from agricultural intensification, particularly through irrigation, and the construction of a new railway.

International Partial12,707 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (área Esteparia del Este de Albalete, 14,257 ha).
