Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
Situated in the mountainous north of Sweden, the site covers a valley containing lakes and marshes. The extensive tracts of coniferous forest are mainly old, with regeneration occurring following forest fires.
The site is important for breeding waterbirds, raptors and waders. Breeding species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Anser erythropus,
Haliaeetus albicilla and
Gallinago media.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
No serious threats are known at the site.
National High
International HighIBA overlaps with Nature Reserve (21,000 ha). IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area (21,600 ha).
