Site description (2003 baseline):
Site location and context
Settlement concentrate in the southern part of the island. Most of the people work as dry land farmer and also as fisherman. Main comodities are coconut, clove, coffee, kapok, nutmeg, cacao and cashew.
Non-bird biodiversity: Chelonia mydas, Eretmochelys imbricata (Monk et.al.1997).
The main habitat is evergreen rainforest (Monk
et.al.1997)
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Natural habitat alteration for cultivation is the potential threat to this site.
