Site location and context
Topography of Poronumbu is steep, and it is a small block of forest in the north of West Sumba (Jepson et.al. 1996)
One of four highest bird diversity in Sumba, and also has the highest taxon diversity (Jepson
et.al. 1996).
Fisiognomy of this area is moist subclimax forest that caused by wood exploitation for housing (Banilodu & Saka 1993).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Burning grassland along of edge forest and timber cutting for housing (Jepson
et.al.1996).
Proposed as a Wildlife Sanctuary (Anon 1995b).
