Site description (2022 baseline):
Site location and context
The site comprises a c.5,5 km stretch of rugged cliffs at the northernmost part of the Santiago Island. The site is very isolated and human presence is reduced to a few artisanal fishers. There are 2 sandy beaches where loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) nests.
The site holds small colonies of two endemic seabirds, Puffinus lherminieri boydi and Calonectris edwardsii. It is also is an important breeding area for the loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) in Santiago island.
