Area: 277,060 ha
Site description (2001 baseline)
Area located almost in the central part of the Kola peninsula.
Key biodiversity
The IBA should possibly be larger including more [area than territory of Ponoysky Zakaznik], but insufficient data are currently availble to justify this. Also A3 criteria could be applied as the number of A3 species is defenetly high, but no speific counts have been made in previous years. To obtain further information, surveys are needed, but this is currently unfeasable as the area is located far from any roads and helicopter would be the only access route, thus very expensive.
