The site includes marshes, wet meadows, hedges and cultivated land, grasslands and uncultivated land. There are villages and major roads within the area.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The site is threatened by fluctuating water-levels, hedge removal and high hunting pressure. The planned opening of a new quarry threatens breeding
Porzana porzana.
