Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in Pingnan County, adjacent to Jinxiu County in the north. The IBA is an extension of the Dayao Shan mountains. It has some 16% forest cover, including mixed forest, coniferous forest and various types of commercially-exploited forest. Hunting by local people has a negative impact on birds.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Shinisaurus crocodilurus, Manis pentadactyla, Viverra zibetha, Viverricula indica, Moschus berezovskii and Muntiacus muntjac.
