Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in Piankou, Xiaoba and Kaiping townships of Beichuan County, Mianyang City. The IBA is on the western edge of the Sichuan Basin, in the centre of the Min Shan mountains, at the south-eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, and on the western side of the Longmen Shan mountains.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected mammals including Giant Panda, Sichuan Snub-nosed Langur and Takin.
