Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A brackish lagoon with associated aquatic vegetation, and woodlands, vineyards and other cultivation.
This is an important site for waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca (2-10 passage individuals, 1-10 passage individuals);
Tetrax tetrax (5 breeding pairs).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats include the development of rice farming, water pollution from chemical treatment against mosquitoes (`Other' threats, above) and high hunting pressure.

International PartialPart of IBA covered by Private Reserve. 16,000 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (La Petite Camargue, 37,000 ha).
