A fairly large offshore archipelago in the middle of the Gulf of Finland. The mainly small and rocky islands and islets are separated by large expanses of open sea. The larger islands support mixed forest or Juniperus stands, sometimes interspersed with small patches of meadow.
Key biodiversity
An important area for island-breeding birds, including the only nationally important breeding cliff for Uria aalge (23-28 pairs).
