Site description (2000 baseline):

One of the few large areas of bog and lakes remaining in Lower Saxony. The lakes are surrounded by reedbeds (Phragmites) and meadows.

The area is a candidate Special Area for Conservation.

National None International PartialIBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
