Site description (2009 baseline):

Located in Orqohan Town, in the northern section of the Da Hinggan Ling mountains. There are many small rivers in the area and large areas of marshland.

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Gulo gulo and Alces alces.

The IBA includes the county-level Xiriteqi Nature Reserve (1,000 ha), which was established in 1986.
