Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
Plains to the south-east of Badajoz with grasslands, dehesas and some non-irrigated cereal cultivation. There is an endorreic lagoon complex.
This is an important area for breeding steppic species, resident and wintering raptors and wintering
Grus grus.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
New irrigation schemes and a new powerline are the main threats.
