UZ004
Northern part of the Assake-Audan depression

IBA Justification

The site was identified as internationally important for bird conservation in 2008 because it was regularly supporting significant populations of the species listed below, meeting ('triggering') IBA criteria.

Populations meeting IBA criteria ('trigger species') at the site:
Species Red List Season (year/s of estimate) Size IBA criteria
Pallas's Sandgrouse Syrrhaptes paradoxus LC breeding (2007) 10–15 birds A3
Asian Houbara Chlamydotis macqueenii VU breeding (2007) 2–4 birds A3
Saker Falcon Falco cherrug EN breeding (2007) 2–4 birds A1
Turkestan Ground-jay Podoces panderi LC breeding (1937–2007) 3–6 birds A3
Brown-necked Raven Corvus ruficollis LC breeding (2007) 2–4 birds A3
Asian Desert Warbler Curruca nana LC breeding (2007) 20–40 birds A3
Desert Finch Rhodospiza obsoleta LC breeding (2007) 10–50 birds A3
Red-headed Bunting Emberiza bruniceps LC breeding (2007) 15–30 birds A3

IBA Conservation

Ideally the conservation status of the IBA will have been checked regularly since the site was first identified in 2008. The most recent assessment (2008) is shown below.
