Site location and context

The IBA is located in one of the most developed [anthropogenic] regions of Russia.

Habitat and land use

The area includes many very wet biotopes (some are seasonally wet).

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

There are plans to create an international (Russian-Lithuanian) Nature reserve, "Neman Delta", here.
